Game-Summary

REAL WORLD DETAILS

Saturday, June 22nd at 4pm

Dress:
Please dress as though your character was going to a funeral...they are, after all, “mourning”.

Libations:
BYOB. Also, please bring one bottle of red wine over $20 for a wine tasting (will occur in-game).

Gameplay:
Players arrive in-character, and act as their character for the next couple hours. The games environment and story line is fully explained in the beginning of the first Act. There will be 3 Acts, each with a game or challenge. At the end of the evening, players will guess who they think the killer is based on conversations they have had with each other.

During each act, your player can force another to answer a direct question truthfully (if they don't know the answer they'll make one up) by tearing up a token in front of them. Keep in mind...the killer can LIE to one direct question per act as well without notifying anyone.

Also, you don't have to be BLATANT about tearing the token. Only your target has to see it. ...that way, if overheard, no one knows if they're being honest, lying, or improving. "Hey friend, haven't seen you in ages...join me in the powder room?"

If you are the winner of an Act's event, you get LIE once in the following act.

STORY SETUP

A few days ago Stedman Dedman died. A wealthy industrialist from an old-money family and largest shareholder of McGuffin, Inc., a vast corporate empire and wealthy estate is now up for grabs. Some of those close to him have received an usual letter from his lawyer regarding the reading of his will and the future of the estate. You, as one of these stakeholders, have every intention of attending, and getting what’s coming to you.

Common Knowledge
  • Stedman was the majority shareholder. No one knows how much equity Oliver has, but it’s assumed to be >40% since no one has ever mentioned any “silent partners”
  • Stedman was seen as a wild playboy in his early years, but settled down after marrying Selena, in the early nineties.
  • As time went on, he was seen as a charming womanizer, and was divorced in the early 2000s.
  • Stedman married Candice Kane only 1 month ago in a secret ceremony that shocked the world. As their wedding was discovered it was also discovered that Candice was his live-in nurse!
  • Other facts also were discovered resulting from the wedding and his resulting death, including he was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumor only 6 months ago, but kept it a secret.
Oliver L. Duncan - (Mid forties - Pat)
Most people are familiar with Stedman’s long-time friend and business partner. Almost all photos from the early days have them together. Those who like him believe he was the the strong silent type who balanced Stedman’s boisterous demeanor and wild business risks. Those who don’t like him call him ‘scrooge’ behind his back.

Avy Dedman (Early forties - Jae)
Stedman’s younger sister has always been the wild child of the family. It’s said that after almost dying of an overdose and subsequent rehab, she’s been touring Europe over the past few years trying to “find herself” by doing various charity works and leading the company’s humanitarian foundation efforts.

Shae Daniel Mann (Late thirties - James)
Shae is the Dedman’s 2nd generation butler. He grew up with the family and is close in age to Avy. When Stedman wasn’t around, he acted more like a friend, but Stedman was very hard on him and always reminded him he was a servant, even in front of others.

Vie O. Dedman (21 - Lusine)
Stedman’s only child who recently turned 21, she is the presumptive recipient of Stedman’s fortune. Some consider her a spoiled rich brat, others a witty firebrand. Viola has always been a vocal opponent of her father’s opinions, and has a lot of her own ideas on how the company should be run.

Candice Kane-Dedman (Early thirties - Lauren)
Virtually unknown to everyone until a month ago, “Candy” became a well known figure to the world as, according to a secret source to various newpapers, “a gold digger like Anna-Nicole, but even worse because she’s smarter and is named ‘Candy’.”
